SalahSafe · Last updated: 1 August 2026

SalahSafe is built to help you protect your prayers. It is not built to collect you. There is no advertising in this app, no analytics profile of your worship, and nothing here is sold to anybody. This page says exactly what stays on your phone and the few things that do not.

What stays on your device

Your prayer history, streaks, dhikr counts, reflections, bookmarks, alarm settings, blocking settings and app preferences are stored on your phone and are not uploaded. Deleting the app deletes them.

Location

Your location is used to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction, and is stored on your device. To turn coordinates into a place name for display, they are sent to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service (openstreetmap.org). No account or identifier is attached. You can decline location access and use approximate times instead.

Camera

The camera is used to confirm you are at your prayer mat, and to confirm you are out of bed for the Fajr alarm. Recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple Vision. No image from that flow is uploaded, saved to your photo library, or kept after the check.

Microphone and Live Translate

The microphone is used by Live Translate, which follows a khutbah and shows it to you in your language. While a session is running, the audio it captures is sent to Deepgram to be turned into text, and that text is sent to Microsoft Azure Translator to be translated. Both are used only to produce what you see on screen during the session. No recording is kept by SalahSafe, and the microphone is not used at any other time.

Recitation checking

Recite, Memorize and Voice Search are not available in this version — they are marked Coming Soon and cannot be opened. Nothing listens to your recitation, and no recitation audio leaves your device. When those features do arrive, this page will say exactly what they send before they ship.

App blocking

On iOS, blocking uses Apple Screen Time. Apple deliberately hands apps an opaque token for each app you pick — SalahSafe can count how many apps you selected but can never see which ones, not even to display them back to you. Nothing about your selection leaves the device.

Account

If you create an account, your email address and sign-in details are held by our authentication service so you can sign in again. You can use most of SalahSafe without an account.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, which records an anonymous identifier and your purchase status so your Premium access works across reinstalls and devices. Your card details are handled by Apple and are never seen by us.

Quran content

Quran text, translations and recitation audio are fetched from Al Quran Cloud and EveryAyah. Those requests carry your IP address, as any web request does, and nothing else about you.

Notifications

Prayer reminders and alarms are scheduled locally on your phone. No notification is sent from a server.

What we do not do

There is no advertising in SalahSafe, no advertising identifier, and no tracking of you across other apps or websites. Nothing here is sold or given to a data broker. Your worship is not profiled.

Children

SalahSafe is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your control

You can revoke location, camera, microphone, notification and Screen Time access at any time in iOS Settings. You can delete all local data by deleting the app. To have an account and its data removed, contact us and it will be deleted.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the updated date above changes and the new version appears here and on our website.
